Picasso japer is one of my favorite stones! Did you know, Picasso Jasper is not a jasper but a metamorphic limestone consisting of calcium magnesium carbonate mineral? The stunning hues and intricate layers of this stone are a result of intense heat and pressure deep within the Earth. Iron oxides are responsible for creating the unique patterns visible in Picasso Jaspers.
